“Sweet, rapturous and achingly sad. A deliciously great combination.”
-Henry Lees, singer/songwriter
What is the single all about?
While not a ‘classic’ song, sweet T chose to sing this as it feels like a classic. The original, by Houndmouth from 2015’s ‘Little Neon Limelight’ album has a dark melancholy couched in a traditional type folk song. We didn’t want to mess with the approach too much, but wanted to give it a ‘live-off-the-floor’ sound. sweet T‘s vocal brings a different feel to the song and Cam MacInnes‘ beautiful National guitar compliments it perfectly.
